CMDCMC (SW/AW) Gordon Brightbill

Command Master Chief

Master Chief Brightbill enlisted in the Navy on September 12, 1984.  He completed Recruit Training at Naval Training Center, and Basic Electricity and Electronics School at Service School Command, both in Orlando, Fla. Hecompleted Electronics Technician "A" School at Great Lakes, Ill., in December 1985.

Master Chief Brightbill’s sea duty assignments include USS Caron (DD 970), USS Conyngham (DDG 17), USS Stump (DD 978), and USS Monterey (CG 61). He reported to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 125 as command master chief in April 2004. He has participated in shipboard deployments and operations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas, and Persian and Arabian Gulfs. He has also participated in joint service deployments in Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Lithuania.

Ashore, Master Chief Brightbill has been stationed at Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Little Creek, and Naval Beach Group 2, both in Norfolk, Va. He reported as Naval Network Warfare Command Staff command master chief in May 2007.

Master Chief Brightbill’s designations include Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted
Surface Warfare Specialist, and personal decorations include Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other personal and unit awards. Master Chief Brightbill graduated with Class 95 at the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport R.I. in 2001 and completed Command Master Chief Capstone in March 2005.
